CONDITIONS AND INTEGRITY

The Aguéli Museum is delighted to present the artist Karin Häll in a solo exhibition.

The title of the exhibition, CONDITIONS AND INTEGRITY, is inspired by the data protection regulation GDPR. The now familiar words have today mainly acquired a meaning linked to regulations and the internet.

In Karin Häll’s exhibition, CONDITIONS AND INTEGRITY instead alludes to the conditions for borders and distances in the mental as well as the physical space, to what can define a phenomenon. The sculptures that now take place at the Aguéli Museum are modeled, sewn, cast, built from scrub mops, packing blankets, wool sweaters, jeans, plastic, plaster, acrylic and wood and are linked to stories, recognizable objects and situations that represent events in everyday life. In order to describe situations, Häll consistently uses to change the value charge of the materials.

Karin says ”I want to concentrate my sculptures into a clear spatial presence, where in the density you sense a contradiction. A bit like a person who simultaneously distracts and sits comfortably back on the sofa.”

Karin Häll was born in Kungsör but lives and works in Stockholm. She was educated at Konstfack, MFA, sculpture department and at the Royal Institute of Art, Stockholm. Häll’s work has been shown at several galleries and art centers in Sweden and abroad. In recent years, Passagen, Linköpings Konsthall, Konst i Ån, Norrtälje Konsthall, Alma Löv Museum, Hilbert Raum, Berlin, Husby Konsthall, Stockholm, Galleri Huuto, Helsinki and more. She is represented at Teckningsmuseet in Laholm and has previously been awarded several scholarships, such as Västmanlands Landsting’s Cultural Scholarship and Bror Marklund’s Sculpture Scholarship. Häll is currently working on a public work for Stockholm Konst.
